I just looked and realized, I haven’t written a blog post in YEARS. This isn’t surprising. Life blew up in my face in 2021 and I feel as if I have just recently really come out from under it.
Many of my long time clients know that I stepped back significantly in early 2023. In late 2021, my children and I left their father due domestic violence. This led to my restraining order and divorce in 2023. I really tried to hold onto my marriage and figure out how to get things on track, but changes needed to happen.
As a result – the studio sold and as a single mom, I stepped back from actively running the business full time.
Divorce is difficult, going through it while trying to navigate running a business and your children’s feelings around not just witnessing you having been abused but also their own abuse, it was miserable. We figured it out though.
That being said, life is different these days. I’m still in Colorado Springs. I am still taking portraits, but I strive for balance. Seriously, who doesn’t want balance? Life changes. That’s why I the photos we take are so important! They hold our memories, tangibly.
If you have missed me, I am sorry. I am back – ish. Part time, minis will come this fall and Christmas. I am so excited to be building again!
