With all my packages I love to get to know you on a personal level, I feel as if that helps me understand all your wants and concerns, but also your love and all the things that you admire about each other. I like to set up Zoom calls, coffee dates and also send out questionnaires to the couples so I can learn more about you both, how you met and details about your special day.

Meet the Lau’s

Their love story is so cute, they met back in 2015 when they worked as servers at Texas Roadhouse in Florida. The groom, Mr. Lau, had been eyeing his future wife for years before she had any idea that he was interested in her. Before they knew it they were in Mrs. Lau’s childhood home of Colorado Springs. Mr. Lau, is Chinese and Mrs. Lau, is of German and Irish Decent. They wanted to wed on June 12th which is the anniversary of interracial marriages legalization, also known as “Loving Day” after the couple who took their love to the Supreme Court.

The Venue

The couple wed at Moonshine Mountain in George Lake, CO. Their wedding took place outside the venue in the meadow by the barn. The venue is open from 7:00am-10:00pm on the day of your wedding. There is a rustic barn, stage and reception tent depending on how many days you and your guest are there. The Couple receives a complimentary night stay in the on-site honeymoon cottage. Moonshine Mountain provides the chairs, tables, audio, keg taps and the integrated sound system. Lastly onsite golf cart transportation…How cool is that?! Many family members definitely appreciated it!

The Big Day!

The Lau’s wed June 12th, 2021 on the anniversary of Loving Day! Loving Day for those of you who may not know is an annual celebration of the 1967 Supreme Court decision Loving v. Virgina. This decision shut down all the anti-miscegenation laws in 16 states that banned interracial marriages. This was very special to the Lau’s and their dreams came true being able to wed on the anniversary of this special historical day.

We took some bridal party photos and some photos of the Groom and his father-in-law. There was a special moment where the Bride gave her parents a special gift (personalized cufflinks and a necklace). Her sister also was featured in a few special shots where they hold a photo together of their brother to them. Ruthie was very close to her brother and it was one of the areas that the couple bonded – both had lost a sibling. It was also an area that I bonded with them about, having lost my older sister when I was 10.

The Ceremony

There were a lot of special people involved in the Lau’s Big Day. They had adorable little ring bearers and flower girls – family is very important to them. Family surrounded them. There were no special sides all guest were welcome to sit wherever they desired. You can also see in some images below how the bride used simple but beautiful decor to make all her boho dreams come true. There was also a special tradition added into the ceremony after their vows were read. The ceremony was called Foot Washing, which is a biblical, tying the couple to a selfless Christ-like love.

The couple planned their special dance. The photo of the couple crying together was for their brothers not being with them. Friends and family cried beautiful tears and joined in to dance away. The couple truly showed the compassion they had for their families, each other and their families.
